SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
March 6, 2026, 4pm EST

Guidelines:

There are two categories: One-Minute Play and Up to 10-Minute Play. Playwrights may submit to both categories, but only one (1) submission per category allowed.

• Criteria:
• The submission deadline is March 6, 2026,  4pm EST or when 30 scripts have been received per category.
• Playwright must be a resident within the state of Indiana.
• Submissions must be blind (no contact information included on the script) and must be attached as a PDF or Word document in a message to playfest@lafayettecivic.org. Playwrights’ name and contact information must not appear anywhere on the script.
• The email subject line should be formatted as “PLAY TITLE,” and CATEGORY. For example: “THIS IS MY PLAY,” UP-TO-10-MINUTES.”
• Name and contact information (mailing address and phone number) should be included in the body of the email.
• All scripts must have page numbers.
• Only one script should be submitted per email.
• Musicals are not being accepted.
• Playwrights must be at least 16 years old to submit.
• Submitted plays must not have been produced or published prior to submission.
• Plays that are longer than 10 minutes will not be accepted.
• Cast size is limited to 5 people.
• Roles must be written for actors no younger than 12 years old.
• Scripts should have simple set, costume and technical requirements.
• Playwrights will be contacted by email prior to a public announcement on April 22.
• All plays will be performed three times during the festival, June 26-28, 2026.
