Say What?! Accents & Dialects for the Stage
Where: Trinity United Methodist
When: Mondays 5-6p
Dates: September 14-November 2
Who: Ages 10-18
Teachers: Rachel Wallace
Tuition: $200
An 8-week accent & dialect intensive for the actor’s ear and voice
Ever wondered how actors transform their voice to become someone entirely new? In Say What?!, students train their ears and mouths to master accents and dialects from around the world and across the U.S. — building vocal flexibility, cultural curiosity, and confidence along the way. Students leave with a personal “accent toolkit” and perform a final scene for friends and family using the dialect of their choice. No experience needed — just a willingness to sound a little silly while learning a lot.
Pop-Up Players: A Flash Mob Company

When: Mondays 5-6p
Dates: September 14-November 2
Who: Ages 12-18
Teachers: Benji Braswell & Kat Pitoukkas
Tuition: $200
Surprise the community — three real flash mobs, one incredible season
Theatre doesn’t have to stay inside a building — sometimes it shows up where you least expect it! Pop-Up Players is a high-energy performance company that choreographs and stages THREE live flash mobs out in the Lafayette community over the course of the season. Students build teamwork, courage, and stage presence while bringing joyful surprise (and a little bit of chaos) to unsuspecting audiences. This class is equal parts choreography workshop, ensemble-building lab, and community adventure — perfect for students who love to move and aren’t afraid of an audience.
Story Lab: A Devised Theatre Company
Where: Civic Theatre
When: Tuesdays 5-6p
Dates: September 15-November 3
Who: Ages 10-14
Teachers: Benji Braswell
Tuition: $200
Original ensemble-made theatre, built from real research and real voices
In Story Lab, students don’t just perform a script — they build one from scratch. Using Viewpoints and ensemble-devising techniques, this company researches a social issue that matters to them and transforms it into an original piece of theatre. Along the way, students strengthen their empathy, critical thinking, and collaborative storytelling skills, culminating in a fully devised performance created entirely by the group. This class is ideal for curious, community-minded students ready to use theatre as a tool for real conversation and change.

Think fast, listen hard, laugh often — improv from the ground up
Yes, And! is a joyful, judgment-free space for students to build quick-thinking, collaborative storytelling skills through the art of improv. Through games, scene-building exercises, and plenty of laughter, students learn to listen deeply, support their scene partners, and trust their instincts on stage. No script, no memorization — just imagination and teamwork. The season builds toward a live improv show, fully created in the moment by the students themselves, for an audience of friends and family.
Bug Boogie

Bug Boogie is a wiggly, giggly crafting-and-choreography class where young performers make their own bug-themed costume pieces and learn simple, high-energy dances set to music featuring all of our favorite bug characters. Each week blends a hands-on craft project with movement and rhythm games built for little bodies and big imaginations. No dance or theatre experience needed — just a willingness to buzz, crawl, and flutter across the room. Students celebrate the season with a Friends & Family Showcase featuring their crafts and choreography.
Character Lab (Scene Study)
Where: Civic Theatre
When: Thursdays 5-6p
Dates: September 17-November 5
Who: Ages 10-16
Teachers: Benji Braswell & Katie Pitoukkas
Tuition: $200
The first steps to living truthfully on stage
Character Lab is the perfect entry point for young actors ready to build real, honest characters from the ground up. Students learn the foundational tools of scene study — given circumstances, objectives, physicality, and truthful listening — while developing empathy for the people they portray. Working with a scene partner throughout the season, each student builds a fully realized character and performs a polished scene for friends and family on closing night. A warm, supportive space to fall in love with the craft of acting.
